About me
Robert Mance has been the artistic director of the BHS Medal Choir Central Standard since 2011. In 2016, Robert Mance was appointed Artistic Director of the SAI Vocal Standard International Choral Competition. Robert Mance holds a doctorate in choral conducting from the University of Kansas. Most recently, he was music director at Shawnee Presbyterian Church, where he also maintained a private vocal studio. He now spends the rest of his week coaching choruses and quartets full time. Previously, he was Interim Director of Choral Activities and Interim Director of Vocal Activities at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. Robert has also sung professionally with groups such as the Kansas City Chorale and the Westminster Symphonic Choir and Westminster Choir. He is an active instructor for high school vocal ensembles, maintains a recording studio, and serves as a BHS adjudicator in the vocal category (2016-present) and previously in the music category (2001-2016). Robert completed his undergraduate studies at McGill University in Montreal in vocal performance and his graduate studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton in choral conducting and vocal pedagogy.
